Today, the Mandate and Immunity Commission decided on the requests for approval to initiate criminal proceedings against MPs Dražen Barišić and Vinko Grgić .
- Based on the information, we proposed an agenda with one item called "Discussion on granting approval to initiate criminal proceedings against Barišić and Grgić".
From 1 pm onwards, the Mandate and Immunity Commission received a proposal from the State Attorney's Office to include at today's session another item related to the initiation of proceedings against MP Darko Puljašić , and 20 minutes before the session we received a request from the State Attorney's Office to request Barišić and Grgić are seeking approval for deprivation of liberty and pre-trial detention - it was said at the session of the Commission.
The Mandate-Immunity Commission said at the session that it does not enter into the merits of criminal offenses because it is their competence to decide whether the request is grounded or not.
The commission then gave its approval to initiate proceedings against Barisic and Grgic because the request was submitted by the State Attorney's Office.
- I guess we will all be for lifting immunity because it is a common practice, but I must point out one fact that this is not a separate case, but has unfortunately become a practice after Josip Rimac .
Now we have another tape, it is again about members of the HDZ, but also that it is a member of the second largest opposition party, the SDP. This is not an isolated case but a well-established practice. I am interested in how Andrej Plenković will react to this, whether he will wash his hands like Pontius Pilate or will he accept responsibility - said Hrvoje Zekanović .

The Mandate and Immunity Commission also unanimously voted in favor of initiating proceedings against HDZ's Darko Puljašić for the criminal offense of forging a business document.
- The man with the indictment that was confirmed was nominated for Parliament and that is sad. The one who delegated and appointed him must bear political responsibility - said Zekanović.
As a reminder, in the affair related to Janaf and the company Elektrocentar Petek, as many as 13 people are suspected, and among them are MPs Dražen Barišić (HDZ) and Vinko Grgić (SDP).
HDZ's Darko Puljašić has a confirmed indictment from the prosecution from July 15 this year. The investigation against Puljašić began in November 2018. These are illogicalities with the project of upgrading the Dobriša Cesarić Elementary School in Požega worth a total of HRK 12.7 million.
It was soon discovered that the City had taken money from the Ministry of Regional Development and European funds to start the project, although no work had been done. It is suspected that this was done on the basis of a contract that Puljašić forged. After the indictment is confirmed, court proceedings will begin.
