The Prime Minister reminded that after the earthquake, the Government and all services reacted quickly: they prepared urgent and short-term measures to take care of the most vulnerable, began to make a list of damages and documentation for international financial assistance and prepared a quality legal framework for long-term reconstruction. He pointed out that the legal proposal for the reconstruction of Zagreb and the surrounding counties determines the principles and rules for long-term organized reconstruction, and all competent professions are involved in its drafting. I am convinced that the final proposal of the Law will be a quality foundation that will initiate and ensure reconstruction and meet the expectations of citizens who suffered damage in the earthquake and the general public, said Plenković, who expects broad support from the law. The law, above all, provides for the renovation of buildings that are unusable and temporarily unusable. It is envisaged that the structural renovation of these buildings will be financed from the state budget, the budget of Zagreb, counties, cities and municipalities, the funds of the owners or co-owners of buildings, and funds from other sources.
