His third encyclical, entitled "Fratelli tutti", which is again a quote from St. Francis (as well as "Laudato si '"), Pope Francis signed on Saturday afternoon at the tomb of St. Frane in Assisi. In terms of authorship, this is his second encyclical, because the first, "Lumen fidei", was mostly written by Benedict XVI, but he did not have the strength to complete it.
The encyclical will be published on Sunday, but it is already known that its theme is brotherhood and social friendship of the people, and the reason is the covida-19 pandemic. Before signing the encyclical, the Pope celebrated the Eucharist in the crypt of the lower basilica in Assisi, without a homily, and remained in prayer at the tomb of the saint whose name he took as his papal, the first among all Roman bishops so far.
The title of the encyclical provoked controversy even before its signing. Some theologians and some public figures have complained that the title does not take into account the female part of the world. Vatican News published a comment in which it emphasizes that it is a "quote from St. Francis, so it is clear that the Pope did not change him. "
When it is said that all men are brothers by a common Father in heaven, it is not meant to say that women are excluded from it. In many languages, man is the name not only for the male member of the human race, but for all members: humanity does not exclude femininity. And Pope John Paul I came to explain that God is both Father and Mother. Enzo Fortunato , editor-in-chief of the San Francesco magazine, which is celebrating its 100th anniversary, reminds us that St. Frane called his follower and especially dear friend "brother Jacopa" (brother Jacopa).

'Pope Francis forced me to resign. He also explained to me why, but I don't think I was wrong. '
In the post-synodal apostolic exhortation "Christus vivit", Pope Francis emphasized that Francis was "a saint of the universal fraternity, a brother of all, who praised God for his creatures."
Brotherhood, says the Pope, is a way of overcoming difficulties even in this time of pandemic. The fraternity means resisting adversity together, not forgetting the last, the poor, whom the Pope appealed not to be neglected when the vaccine is distributed.
The Pope's visit to Assisi was announced as private, so there were no believers at the Eucharistic feast.
