The record also fell in Slovenia, where 238 new cases were reported in the last 24 hours, and two patients died. Slovenian government spokesman Jelko Kacin announced the possibility of re-closing traffic to the borders of municipalities or regions, as was the case in the spring "Hard times are coming, the autumn and winter months," Chancellor Angela Merkel said earlier this week. The number of people in Germany planning to travel in the second half of 2020 has dropped dramatically, with one in five now planning to travel, according to a YouGov study commissioned by dpa. Last year, 41 percent planned to travel during that period. The issue of the German holiday season in December also remains open, as many companies have canceled Christmas celebrations, and the most famous Christmas fair will have strict hygiene measures or will even be canceled.
