DRAGO HEDL

POLITICS & CRIME Penava's friend's company won a job worth HRK 250,000 in a tender announced on May 27. It was founded on June 25. The previous company gave up on transporting passengers due to epidemiological measures, Option B does not care DRAGO HEDL 21:18 121 RECOMMENDATIONS 1 COMMENT LAST CHANGE: JUL 31, 2020 The mayor of Vukovar and member of parliament of the Homeland Movement Ivan Penava visited Vukovar Ada on Wednesday "on the occasion of the beginning of the bathing season", it was announced from his office. The bathing season, admittedly, officially started ten days earlier, on July 17, but Penava, who convenes journalists for the most banal reasons (remember his invitation to journalists in late April when he marked the beginning of Japanese cherry blossoms on the tree-lined promenade along the Danube promenade), used this week as well for self-promotion. He boasted that the City of Vukovar had invested 250,000 kuna for the 'Summer on Vukovar Ada' event, and another 60,000 for cleaning the river island on the Danube, Vukovarska ada, the favorite beach of the people of Vukovar. The story of this year's "contractors", the company Opcija B, which got the job of transporting the citizens of Vukovar, but also "citizens from the surrounding villages and towns" (as they say from the Vukovar city administration) from the right bank of the Danube to Vukovarska ada, worth 250,000 kuna, it is more than interesting. Namely, that company was entered in the Court Register a month ago, on June 25, or only four days before the end of the public tender by which the City of Vukovar asked for a company willing to organize river transport to Vukovarska ada. Penava officially opened the bathing season on Ada, which, however, started 10 days earlierTELEGRAM THE COMPETITION WAS ANNOUNCED ON MAY 27 The mentioned tender was announced on May 27 this year and the City of Vukovar has allocated 150,000 kuna for this job. However, around the middle of the deadline until the end of the tender, on June 10, the mayor of Penava personally makes a change to the public tender in which only point II is changed, so now the previous value of 150,000 kuna is increased to 250,000 kuna. In previous years, the transport of Vukovar residents to their favorite beach was organized by the Danube Sport Fishing Association, but due to the epidemiological situation related to the Covid 19 pandemic, they gave up the job. As early as June 17, while the tender was underway, SRU Vukovar addressed the Institute of Public Health with a question about the recommendations, given that they had transported 10 excursionists in their vessels in previous years and that they all had to have life jackets. They asked the Institute of Public Health whether, given the epidemiological measures, it would be necessary to reduce the number of passengers in the boat, and whether life jackets would have to be disinfected after each ride, given the summer heat and sweating of passengers. CLEAR EPIDEMIOLOGICAL RECOMMENDATIONS Two days later, on June 19, epidemiologist Jasna Toplovec responded , explaining the measures: passengers in the vessel must be at least 1.5 meters apart, and life jackets and all other objects that passengers can touch while driving must be disinfected after each application. Also, it is necessary to take the personal data of all passengers, so that they can be contacted later if it turns out that they were in contact with an infected person during the trip. SRU Dunav then concluded that given the current situation caused by the Covid-19 pandemic, they would not be able to meet the recommendations of the Croatian Institute of Public Health, so to protect the health of Vukovar citizens and tourists who would visit Vukovar Ada, they decided not to apply. On June 23, the president of the association, Alen Bainrauch , and his associates are arranging a meeting in the City Administration with the head of the Administrative Department for Social Activities, Dražen Kobašević , to inform him that they will not apply because they cannot meet epidemiological measures. However, the meeting did not take place because the head canceled it and moved it at a time when the leadership of SRU Dunav could not come. The next day, June 24, SRU Dunav announces its decision not to apply for the tender. THE LEADERS OF THE CITY WERE VERY NERVOUS A day later, as we have seen, a company with an interesting name, Option B, whose founder and owner is Ninoslav Potlimbrzović , is entered in the Court Register . They apply for a competition that ends in four days and get the job. From sources close to the Vukovar city administration, we learn that the city's leaders were very nervous and that they wanted to enable the transportation of Vukovar residents to a nearby beach at all costs, believing that this would gain the citizens' favor for the next local elections. On the sidelines of the city administration, it was rumored that the HDZ was behind it all, planting Penava clips because he left the party and joined, as did Deputy Mayor Marijan Pavliček , the Miroslav Škora Homeland Movement. Our interlocutors from SRU Dunav strongly reject any political reasons for their decision: they gave up their job, they say, because they assessed that they could not fulfill the epidemiological recommendations and did not want to expose the citizens of Vukovar to the risk of infection with Covid 19. THE OWNER SAYS THEY RESPECT ALL EPIDEMIOLOGICAL MEASURES But Option B does not seem to have that problem. The owner, Ninoslav Potlimbrzović, says that they respect all epidemiological measures, and when asked by Telegram if he could describe exactly which measures they are implementing, he answers that we as journalists should know that. When asked if they respect the measures of social distance of 1.5 meters, and if they disinfect the vests after each use, he answered: "We respect all the measures prescribed by the Vukovar and national headquarters." However, the photographs in the Telegram show that the distance between the excursionists is not a meter and a half, and that the passengers in the boat do not wear life jackets. Transport of Vukovar to the beachTELEGRAM Potlimbrzović did not want to answer the routes of how many boats they use to transport, but like his associate Tihomir Kostić answered vaguely that "there are enough boats", not wanting to say whether they are three, four, five or more vessels. However, Kostić said that life jackets must be worn only by children, and adults decide for themselves, at their own risk. Summer hit from Tele2 Midas - Native Internet Advertising The owner of the company Opcija B, which won the tender worth HRK 250,000, Ninoslav Potlimbrzović admits that he has friendly relations with the mayor of Vukovar, and when asked by Telegram whether Penava invited him to apply for the tender, he replied that it was an indirect invitation. was transmitted by an employee of the city administration, whose name he could not remember.
