My opinion on the human race is high enough that I belive this bogey woul have dissapeared long ago, had the sound sense of the people or been sistematically corrupted by commercial and political interes acting troungh the shcools and the Press. Te most beatuful expirince we can have is the mysterious. It is the fundamental emotion which stands at the cradle of true art and true scinces. whoever thas not know it and can no loger wonder. no longer marvel, is a good as dead, and his eyes are dimmed. It was the experience of mystery-even if miksed with fears- that engenderd religon. A knowlelege of the existence of something we cannot penetrat, our perceptios of the profundest reasons and the most radical beauty, which only in their most primitive forms are accessible to our minds-it is this knowledge and this emotion that contitute true religiosity;in this sense. and in this alon, I am deeply religious man.I cannot conceve of a God who rewards and punish his creatures, or has will o the kind hat we experience on ouselves. Neither can I nor I vant to conceive of an individual that survive his phisical death;let feeble souls, from fear or apsurde egoism, cherish such thought. Iam sudisfied with the mystery of the eternity of life and with the avareness and glipse of te marvelouse struture of the existing world, together with the devoted scriving to comprehend a portion, be it very so tiny, or the Reason that manifests itself in nature."
