She was 42 years old. Last year, she was sentenced to more than 13 years in prison for "belonging to a terrorist organization." In February, looking for a new process, she began a hunger strike. Ebru Timtik drank only sweetened water, herbal teas and vitamins, and at the time of her death she weighed 30 kilograms, ”her family said. Ebru Timtik, among others, represented the family of Berkin Elvan , a young man who died in 2014 from injuries sustained during anti-government protests in Gezi Park in 2013.
