Pro-government protests were announced for noon. “Everyone who loves their homeland and opposes the division of the country into two opposing sides will gather at this rally,” Belaya Rus, the rally’s organizers, wrote on their Facebook page. However, there are reports that public sector workers are forced to attend the rally or will face the threat of losing their jobs. Workers in state-owned factories have been on strike for days, and many have joined street protests against the president. Riots erupted after Lukashenko won a majority in last week's election, the result of which was criticized amid allegations of electoral fraud.
