HOW WAS HE ELECTED TO OFFICE? In the meantime, however, we learned another interesting fact. Frano Hartman , the man who runs the Dubrovnik center of the University of Zagreb, has a family relationship with Rector Boras, and it is not clear from publicly available data what his references are for the position, as he is mostly involved in renting boats and transporting tourists. Hartman's career rise in the Dubrovnik University Center begins during the first rector's term of Damir Boras. Thus, in 2017, in the Dubrovnik building, he became the director of the company Dormitorij, which the University founded to manage the dormitories and apartments in the building separately. At that time, he also held the position of expert advisor at the Postgraduate Center Dubrovnik, and at the end of last year, Hartman was elected in a public competition, no less, as the head of the entire Dubrovnik University Center. However, his work commitments would not be nearly as interesting if Hartman was not connected to the Boras family through his wife. CONNECTION WITH THE BORAS FAMILY As confirmed to Telegram by several mutually independent and well-informed sources, Frane Hartman's wife, Lana Kurtović Hartman , is the niece of Damir Boras' wife, Alena Aganović Boras . In short, the imposing Dubrovnik building is run by the husband of Mrs. Boras's niece. Hartman is employed as the head of the Dubrovnik Postgraduate Center, which also includes the internationally renowned Interuniversity Center, following a competition from October last year. In the description of the porter's job, the University, among other things, looked for candidates who would "monitor the situations, conditions and movements of persons" and "monitor the entry and exit of parties into the university premises", as well as "keep records of arrivals and departures". The flood of competitions for porters, just after our research tour in September last year, seemed significant to us, given that Telegram's reporters walked and photographed the Dubrovnik university building freely. All employed porters, as well as all employees of the Postgraduate Center Dubrovnik, are employees of the University of Zagreb and their salaries are paid from public funds. EVERYTHING STAYS IN THE FAMILY. AND IN THE RECTORATE We have already mentioned; since 2017, Hartman has been the director of the university company Dormitorij doo, which separately manages the dormitories and apartments in the building in the Dubrovnik building.
