The City of Poreč, in accordance with the reports of the citizens and the competent local committee, reacted on this issue on several occasions and it was concluded that it was an illegal landfill on private land. According to the locals, the owners leased the plot to a waste collection company. However, we unofficially find out that these are several families from the area of ​​Nova Gradiška who, allegedly, systematically burn waste or process it so that they can resell it. Whose families buy waste from unknown locations, probably surrounding households, for a small amount of money, and simply burn it on the mentioned plot, get the raw materials they will sell, and bury the unusable parts in the ground. The fire is constantly smoldering and the plot is constantly smoking, which poses a danger to the environment. To keep the situation under control, firefighters are therefore on the ground every day. After visiting the field, the municipal police of the City of Poreč informed the police and the competent inspection for environmental protection about the illegal landfill on the private plot, which has already issued warrants, and the agricultural inspection has also been notified. gg - As a unit of local self-government, we have already reported this illegal landfill because we believe that it poses a danger to the environment. We are in constant contact with the citizens and the local committee, and we hereby ask the competent inspections to carry out supervision because the municipal police, given that this is a private plot, did everything in their power.
