The lost innocence of an expert who loved cameras: All his advantages became a handicap
Beros fell for compliments and encouragement. He began to flirt in the midst of the crisis with political functions that have little to do with health

Yesterday a candidate for all functions, today a record holder for the rate of decline in popularity.
As the polished Minister of Health Vili Beroš took a walk in just a few months, he rushed from the supposedly ideal holder of the most difficult HDZ election lists, through Bandić's imaginary successor, to the not-quite-realized member of Plenković's team whose rating dropped in half a year. 30 to three percent?
Among other things, Minister Beroš is a victim of his own misjudgment that the popularity of politicians can grow rapidly with the increased presence in the public, exponentially like a virus.
Everything that was an advantage for Beroš in the beginning either melted along the way, or, on the contrary, turned into a handicap.
First, Beroš was initially valued mostly in relation to his problematic predecessor, the cynical, quarrelsome Minister Kujundžić, who broke down the burden of various scandals, from which he failed to distance himself.
Beroš, after Kujundžić , was an incredible refreshment to the public. Unlike his predecessor, he seemed like someone who respected his interlocutors, listened to arguments, discussed moderately, and worked transparently.
It was this thankful circumstance for Beroš’s start of his term; few like him came to office after so many unpopular predecessors, those who literally cultivated an aversion to themselves of most of the public.
Fortunately, we have all forgotten Kujundžić.
Secondly, Beroš was installed at the dawn of the corona crisis, when panic and fear were produced uncontrollably due to all the unknowns about the virus. Beroš then acted as a doctor who knew how to manage that public nervousness and who could calmly lead the alarmed public health system in crisis.
In the meantime, a lot has been learned about the virus, so this kind of unrest - for which chamomile was also sought in Beroš's character at the time - has largely disappeared. The crown remained, but the view of the disease changed drastically. With her and the coronary minister.

POLICEMAN CARRIER
A detail that many missed, Beroš pulls out: 'My hands were full, I didn't order him!'
And third, Beroš took over this unregulated, over-indebted, unreformed health care system when, by force of circumstances, the concentration on these long-term deficits was suddenly reduced, due to the priority of the battle with the coming pandemic. In a way, paradoxically, Beros was given hundreds of days of peace regarding his fundamental ministerial job - settling the situation in public health.
And here things are now significantly different after six months. Citizens are again looking for all the normal functions of health care, and not just, or not so dominantly, a reduction to the suppression of the corona.
Apart from the fact that his circumstances have completely changed since the beginning of his term, Minister Beroš is also personally responsible for some factors in the loss of public confidence.
For example, regardless of the daily indebtedness to the public regarding the crown, much more than that, Beroš decided to be present in public. It was as if he had been waiting for decades. Unlike, say, Minister of Police Bozinovicwho also has an obligation to report on the crown on a daily basis (but only speaks as much as necessary), Beroš has an excessive tendency to expose himself, to run in front of the cameras. His persuasiveness, however, is hampered by his very artificial, affected speech, as well as his over-emphasized kindness. At the same time, Beroš's condescending participation in the political management of the corona crisis is increasingly being highlighted, most notably during party and state elections as well as around the tourist season ("the risk of concessions was calculated"). There, Beroš lost this "innocence of experts" that he had while he was still being compared to Kujundžić. He was certainly harmed by the video that connects him with the party staffing in hospitals, whatever the truth is.
Most importantly, over time, Beroš has become a person through whom all the illogicalities in setting up a health system around the crown are assessed and measured. He personally suffers the most damage because of a growing sense that other, more serious, more serious illnesses have been neglected. According to him, and not primarily according to Capak , every time he looks at various illogicalities in the character and dynamics of epidemiological measures. Logically, because Beros, and not Capak, has direct political responsibility, and the process has long been politically polluted. Beroš is certainly not helped by new awareness: from the fact that such a lockdown (not only at the Croatian level) was probably excessive, to the fact that some of the main paradigms of the battle against the crown are rocking, such as these: "masks certainly help", " self-isolation must last 14 days ”,“ schools are dangerous ”, etc.
Minister Beroš now sees by his own example that no special counter-rating measures are needed to abruptly stop or even reverse popularity trends. It is enough to detach oneself a little more from reality, to have somewhat weaker results, to be mentioned several times in the contexts of benefits and privileges and - here are the problems.
Unfortunately, Beroš uncritically fell for compliments and encouragement. He began, in the midst of a major health crisis, carelessly flirting with political functions that had little to do with health. He naively believed in (well-intentioned?) Suggestions from the side that what he is doing now is just an incidental investment in something supposedly much bigger and more important that opens before him.
And that is why he is now threatened to fall from the minister who promised the most to one of the fastest-spent politicians in Croatia.
Confidence in him falls somehow at a time when all the neglected ailments of the health care system will begin to come to light again.
Because the only thing that has been done with health care for the last six months is that - masks have been put on. Mostly on the nose and mouth.
But also on the eyes.
