While waiting to see if an indictment will be filed against Kuscevic, he is still quietly renting the famous villa for 17,730 a week.
The house that started the affair in which the former minister was politically killed, is again offered on the pages of the travel agency
LAST AMENDMENT: JUN 9, 2020
Although it will be exactly a year since Telegram published a series of texts that revealed a number of suspicious situations regarding the property of former Minister of Administration Lovro Kuščević , the State Attorney's Office has still not filed an indictment against him.
In addition, despite the substantial damage he is suspected of, the former minister's property is still not blocked. Moreover, Kuščević's villa in Nerežišće on Brač, which he did not register in the cadastre for 11 years , and in which the police also broke in as part of the investigation last year, is still being offered for rent.
THE PRICE IS 2250 KUNA PER DAY
Holiday villa of 239 square meters with outdoor heated pool, four bathrooms and five bedrooms is available for rent through the portal of the travel agency NOVASOL doo To check if the villa is really in the offer, we tried to book an appointment for vacation.
We chose the eight-day option from July 4th to 11th. The calculation showed that the figure we need to pay for two people in that period would be as much as HRK 17,730, or a considerable HRK 2,250 per day.
PAVELIC IS STILL STANDING PROUDLY
By the way, the property is still not on the Booking.com portal, from which it was evicted on August 21 last year, when a closer analysis of the interior of the villa revealed that a picture of Ustasha leader Ante Pavelić was standing above the fireplace . Kuscevic then claimed that it was his grandfather or great-grandfather. The media also revealed earlier that a large coat of arms with the first white field was displayed in one of the rooms.
Despite that, on the pages of the NOVASOL agency, along with the controversial photos, there is a description that "the living room with a fireplace on the ground floor with a large table that can comfortably accommodate as many as 15 people gives the impression of hospitality", not to mention that Pavelić looks gloomily at the guests.
Telegram therefore sent an inquiry to the travel agency advertising Kuščević's villa to see if it would still have it on offer and if it would at least change the photos of the offer. We will publish the answer when we receive it.
HIS PROPERTY IS NOT BLOCKED
In the investigation, USKOK suspects Kuščević of abuse of position and authority, incitement to abuse of position and authority, incitement to cause bankruptcy, and illegal acquisition of property in the amount of around HRK 4.7 million, while the state budget was damaged by slightly less than 300,000 kuna.
They also suspect that he illegally converted the barn into residential space, which increased the value of his own property by an as yet undetermined amount, and certainly more than 60,000 kuna. Taking all this into account, it is really unusual that USKOK has not yet reacted by blocking the property, so we sent them an inquiry as to whether and when exactly they intend to do something about it.
