KORUPTIVNI GUŠTER IZJEDA SAMOG SEBE

PATRICIJA SOFTIĆ WRITES

Illegal construction is the face of an illegal state

Why would anyone obey the laws in a country that doesn't even obey its own laws? Are those heads naive who live their lives in a disciplined way, believing that the law is an amen to order in every orderly state? That he should be both restrictive and liberal, but always for the benefit and for the benefit of his people?

THE TEXT CONTINUES AFTER THE AD

"Honest without ambition, a loser tradition", sang Mile Kekin in 2007, who after so many years of social engagement, and not only through music, recently decided to enter political waters. And he is not the only new face on the political scene these days. Together with a few other well-known people from the world of Croatian politics, they are loudly demanding changes. Those changes called for by the citizens, changes for the better, in every respect. For such progress to be made, a solid foundation is needed: a fairer, more efficient and faster legislative system that must be absolutely professional and independent.
Independence is necessary in every segment of our society. Because, unfortunately, at the moment when the centuries-old aspirations of the Croats to be an independent and sovereign nation were realized, the greatest possible tragedy happened to us. A tumor appeared that slowly began to eat away at Croatia. It is a disgusting fabric of nepotism, clientelism, eligibility, and kinship. There is no independence in this tumor tissue. All its cells are interconnected for mutual benefit, which often results in circumvention or circumvention of the law. Illegal construction is one of the best examples of this. This too frequent occurrence, which frustrates many citizens, is the most common example of bad and unjust laws in our state. And it is not true that too little is written or talked about it. The problem is that no one is going to do anything because it would cause a chain reaction and everyone would,  for the laws to really be enforced, they should end up in jail. The problem is also that while someone in a very responsible position turns a blind eye to an illegal act for a 20 percent commission, or other kind of self-interest, the state shows that it is still enforcing the laws. And often on an ordinary, honest citizen when he "slips".
The state is ultimately made up of many of these tumor cells that we have, lo and behold, found to have caused cancer. Because cancer cells are always hungry and won't stop until they devour everything they can. The problem of illegal construction is not complex at all. It is quite simple and easy to suppress. At the very beginning. Only if there was political will and independence for it. There is a long way to go. But we can still start with it. Only if we stopped choosing those who constantly keep us in political mud because of their interdependence.
