CROWN BREAKTHROUGH The virus has entered six schools and before classes began, some had already delayed the start of the school year There are no positive children, in all of them someone from the technical or teaching staff became infected By: Kristina TurčinPosted: September 6, 2020 9:09 am Illustration, empty classroom Illustration, empty classroom Bruno Konjevic / Cropix Facebook Twitter Messenger E-mail Even before the school year began, the virus broke through in at least six schools in Croatia. These are schools in Koprivnica, Murter, Dubrovnik, Prelog, Slavonski Brod and another school in Dalmatia. - It is very important to emphasize that in no school do we have a situation due to infected children, in all of them someone from the technical or teaching staff became infected. Principals keep us informed of the situation in their schools. We will see if there will be more reports by Monday about the impossibility of starting the school year as planned - confirmed Božo Pavičin , advisor to the Minister of Education Radovan Fuchs . Schools in Prelog and Dubrovnik have announced that they will postpone the start of the school year for two weeks due to the virus outbreak. According to Pavičin, schools in which technical staff is infected decide on such a scenario, so it is impossible to maintain epidemiological measures in institutions. In Koprivnica, five workers were infected in one primary school, and more of them are in self-isolation, including one teacher whose results are awaited. Classes at that school will begin tomorrow, but exclusively online. Three teaching models - Online classes will start as last year, with last year's materials and the way classes are organized by all teachers last school year during the lockdown. So it will be held the first week, during which it is mostly repeated anyway, there are no tests or assessments. After the first week, we will start with new materials and a new organization that we will develop - says Pavičin. A similar situation as in Koprivnica is on Murter, where, as reported by the Chief of Civil Protection of Šibenik-Knin County Nikola Blažević , one person employed at the school was infected with Covid-19, which is why several school employees are isolated. - The infected person is not a member of the teaching staff, but due to the isolation of a large number of school employees and the safety of children, it was decided to start teaching online - announced Blažević. Instructions for parents and details on the organization of online classes are given on the official website of the Murter school, with a short explanation.
