Snimke iz zraka najbolje svjedoče razmjerima katastrofe: 'Iz ruševina dopiru jauci'

Najmanje 73 osobe su poginule, a 130 ih se smatra nestalim nakon snažnog potresa koji je u noći sa utorka na srijedu pogodio središnju Italiju. Potres magnitude 6,0 po Richteru pogodio je pokrajine Lacij i Marche, a uslijedilo je stotinjak podrhtavanja od kojih je najsnažniji bio 5,4 po Richteru. Potres se osjetio i u Rimu, udaljenom 140 kilometara.
Najpogođeniji su gradovi Amatrice, Accumoli i Pescara del Tronto, ali čini se da je ipak najteže u Amatriceu u kojem je zasad 53 mrtvih. Gradovi su neprepoznatljivi, sve je u ruševinama, a kakva je trenutačna situacija najbolje je opisao turist iz RimaAgostino Severo.
- Došao sam na glavni trg odmah nakon potresa. Scena je sličila na Danteov Pakao. Sa svih strana čuo sam jauke i zapomaganja. Čak i iz ruševina sam čuo kako ljudi viču 'upomoć, upomoć'. Spasioci su na licu mjesta bila nakon sat, sat i pol vremena - rekao je Severo.

U Amatriceu, koji se nalazi u jednom od najljepših talijanskih krajeva, svoje vikendice imaju mnogi Rimljani. Amatrice slovi za kulinarsko mjesto i kiti se titulom "rodnog grada" špageta amatriciana. Danas tog grada više nema, više od 2600 ljudi je ostalo bez krova nad glavom.

- Situacija je dramatična, mrtvih je posvuda. Spasioci daju sve od sebe, ali užasno je teško raditi u ovim uvjetima. Pola mjesta je nestalo. Naš zadatak je sada spasiti što više života - rekao je gradonačelnik Amatricea Sergio Pirozzi, dok njegov kolega iz Accumolija, Stefano Petrucci, samo je procijedio.

Katastrofalni potres izbrisao je s lica zemlje tri gradića, ali nažalost, lako je moguće da stanovnicima središnje Italije muke nisu gotove. Naime, stručnjaci upozoravaju kako novi potresi na tom području nisu nemogući.


Joanna Walker, stručnjakinja za prirodne katastrofe, kaže da su potresi na tom području učestala pojava, ali da je velika mogućnost da dođe do novih udara.

- Čak i ako su ti potresi puno slabiji, posljedice mogu biti katastrofalne. Veliki broj građevina je načeto i novi udar mogao bi urušiti i ono malo zgrada što je ostalo - rekla je Walker uz dodatak.
- Manji potresi su mogući i kroz nekoliko tjedana.

Walker je svoju tvrdnju potkrijepila čistom statistikom. U posljednjih 700 godina središnje Apenine pogodilo je između 20 i 30 katastrofalnih potresa. Najgori se dogodio u siječnju 1915. godine kada je u okolici Avezzana poginulo čak 32.000 ljudi.

Nikoga nećemo ostaviti samog - rekao je premijer Matteo Renzi koji će tijekom dana posjetiti mjesta stradanja. Zahvalio je onima koji golim rukama spašavaju ljude iz ruševina.
Talijanski predsjednik Sergio Mattarella pozvao je sunarodnjake da pokažu solidarnost s onima koje je pogodio potres, nazvavši ga 'trenutkom boli i pozivom na zajedničku odgovornost'.

Zahvalio je lokalnim vlastima i jedinicama na njihovoj predanosti tijekom operacija spašavanja, uključujući policiju, vatrogasce i vojsku, kao i volontere.
Europska unija je 'spremna pomoći' Italiji da prevlada posljedice ovog potresa, rekao je povjerenik Europske komisije za humanitarnu pomoć i upravljanje krizamaChristos Stylianides.

Koordinacijski centar za odgovor na hitne situacije Europske Komisije prati razvoj situacije, te je u kontaktu s talijanskim vlastima oko potrebne pomoći, dodao je Stylianides u priopćenju.

Italija je zasad zatražila satelitske karte kako bi procijenila štetu u pogođenom području, prenosi Stylianides, dodavši kako će to biti učinjeno.
- Sad je potrebno angažirati sve snage kako bi spasili živote, pobrinuli se za ozlijeđene, te raseljenima omogućiti najbolje uvjete - zaključio je Sytlianides i naglasio kako će uskoro biti potrebno obnoviti uništene centre kako bi se aktivnosti mogle nastaviti.

Papa Franjo izrazio je 'veliku bol' nakon informacije o potresu, te je otkazao planirani govor kako bi se pomolio za žrtve.
- Ne mogu, a da ne izrazim veliku bol, te reći da sam uz ljude iz mjesta pogođenih potresom, sa svima koji su izgubili svoje najmilije i koje i dalje trese strah - rekao je papa, dodavši kako je 'snažno pogođen' nakon što je čuo da je planinsko selo Amatrice uništeno do temelja, te da među žrtvama ima djece.
