SOUNDS SCARY
KORADO KORLEVIC, astronomer and scientist from Višnjan: The next pandemic will come from the lab, probably from biohackers
The famous scientist and founder of the observatory in Višnjan, Korado Korlević, was a guest of the New Day of N1 Television. He talked about asteroids passing near Earth, the coronavirus pandemic, and how he sees the world after the pandemic
Speaking that the world would no longer be the same, Korlevic said the story was very complicated.
"Our civilization is at a turning point. We can make a good step, we can make a bad one. We have not one possible future but several possible futures ahead of us. We are talking about interesting times," Korlevic said, N1 said .
Korlevic said there are currently observatories not operating because of the coronavirus. "Let's say our defense has been shrinking a lot lately because everything is blocked in some way," he points out.
"The next pandemic is not going to come from a bat, it's going to come from a lab. Not probably military ones, but probably some of the biohackers will do it. So we're coming to a time when every high school student who's really interested in biology will become infinitely dangerous." "What I see with computer attacks, that's what we will have with biology. So, science will be in both positive and negative terms. The power of destruction it gave us is awesome," he added.
He thinks this is a world that will have to split into two civilizations.
"One that will be fun, one that will be a guaranteed personal income and one that will be a working world. In that world where science and technology will work and push forward is the only vivendi mode, and this other part of the fun will not disappear. We we are addicted to good stories and good stories will always be a priority, "Korlevic said.
The opinion is that the future does not happen, but we choose it ourselves. "This is too good a crisis to miss. Now is the moment when decisions are made and what's going to happen in the future. The question is - where am I in this story? Where are my family and I in this story? This is a phenomenal opportunity to learn and work for yourself, not to happen that it was a pandemic, and I did nothing, "Korlevic said.
He also referred to the 2019 Communiqué of the Year awarded by the Croatian Public Relations Association. "Let's say you're always flattered when you've done something right. In our case, astronomy is an introduction to education," he points out.
Korlevic said of the asteroid that is passing the Earth at the moment, which NASA also reported, said: "The asteroid is of media interest, but it is at 10 distances of the moon, it is a completely irrelevant object. We had one last night on 400,000 kilometers from Earth, it means that it has passed at the location of stationary satellites. "
